Coyotes Vs. Blackhawks Score Update: Phoenix Leads 2-0 After Two Periods

We're two periods through Tuesday night's match-up between the Chicago Blackhawks and Phoenix Coyotes, and the third-ranked offense in the NHL has been held scoreless at home so far as the Coyotes lead 2-0. Chicago is hoping to win for the third time in a row in the team's first game since the conclusion of the "Circus Trip" but they're going to need to make a comeback to accomplish that.

Chicago trailed 1-0 after a first period goal from Daymond Langkow, and Phoenix only expanded that lead with a goal in the middle of the second period by Shane Doan. Assisted by Langkow and Mikkel Boedker, it was Doan's seventh goal of the season. Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford has been challenged by 18 shots on goal so far today, saving 16 of them.

It's bean an impressive performance by Coyotes goalie Mike Smith, who's saved all 15 of the shots that Chicago has gotten on goal so far. He's one period away from his third shutout of the season and the 14th shutout in his career.

Coyotes Vs. Blackhawks Score Update: Chicago Trails 1-0 After First Period

The Chicago Blackhawks are hosting the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday night as they play their first home game following the annual "Circus Trip" and hope to win for the third time in a row. They're trailing after one period in the United Center, though, as the Coyotes have jumped out to a 1-0 lead on the road.

The game was scoreless for most of the first period, but Phoenix's Daymond Langkow scored for the Coyotes with roughly four minutes left in the period. Phoenix got eight shots on goal, with Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford stopping seven of them. Chicago mustered seven shots on goal against Coyotes goalie Mike Smith, but they weren't able to capitalize.
