Blackhawks Vs. Ducks Final Score: Chicago Rallies For 6-5 Victory Over Anaheim

The Chicago Blackhawks had not led the game at any point in the first two periods and began the third down 4-2, but a scoring barrage early in the period took care of that and the Anaheim Ducks, who gave up a total of four goals to Chicago over the final 20 minutes.

Jonathan Toews got the third-period scoring started with a goal 1:04 in, and Patrick Sharp tied the game at four with a goal less than thirty seconds later. Sharp added another goal two minutes later to give Chicago its first lead. It also completed the hat trick for Sharp.

Near the midway point, Jonathan Toews scored his second goal of the period and gave his team a 6-4 lead. The Ducks pulled to within one on a goal with eight seconds remaining, but by then the game was essentially over.

Blackhawks Vs. Ducks Score Update: Anaheim Leads 4-2 After 2 Periods

The Chicago Blackhawks controlled the second period, at least in terms of shots on goal, but the Ducks were the only team to score in the frame. Bobby Ryan netted his seventh goal of the season and gave Anaheim a 4-2 lead with about 11 minutes to play in the period. Otherwise it was a quiet period compared to the opening 20 minutes, which saw the teams combine for five goals.

The Blackhawks out-shot the Ducks 17-5 in the second and had a pair of power play opportunities but could not break through to narrow the margin. For the afternoon, Chicago is 1-5 with the man advantage, while Anaheim is 1-3.

Chicago went down by two goals on two different occasions in the first period but answered with a score each time.

Blackhawks Vs Ducks Score Update: Ducks Break Out Early, Lead Chicago 3-2

The Chicago Blackhawks were certainly hoping for a better start to Friday's game against the Anaheim Ducks.

Just 1:14 into the first period, Bobby Ryan clapped a wrister past Corey Crawford for a quick 1-0 Anaheim lead. Then, less than a minute late, Andrew Cogliano redirected a fortunate bounce from Teemu Selanne and Saku Koivu for another Anaheim score, pushing the Ducks' advantage to 2-0.

The game appeared to be spiraling out of control when at 3:45 Jonathan Toews drew a holding penalty, giving the Ducks a power play and a position of considerable strength. The Hawks fought off the power play, though, and promptly harassed the Ducks defense, leading to a Patrick Sharp 10-foot tip in goal and a 2-1 game.

A Marcus Kruger hooking call at 13:37 helped double the Ducks' lead when Salanne slapped a 33-foot goal, but they kindly gave the goal back when a Francois Beauchemin tripping penalty led to a Dave Bolland goal and a 3-2 game.

Both teams will be looking for greater production from their goalies in the next two periods, as both sport save percentages beneath 80% after the first.
