Chicago Breaking Sports reports on the recall of Ben Smith from Rockford:

Against the Edmonton Oilers on Friday night at the United Center, Smith will make his NHL debut and skate on a line with fellow winger Fernando Pisani and center Dave Bolland.

“I’m a little nervous but it’s exciting,” said Smith, who has a goal and three assists in eight games with the IceHogs. “It’s what you dream of growing up. I’m really excited.”

From the Blackhawks press release:

Smith, 22, has recorded four points (G, 3A) in eight tilts with Rockford this year in his first full professional season, including netting the IceHogs’ only shorthanded goal of the campaign. The Avon, Connecticut, native was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2010 Frozen Four while helping Boston College to the 2010 NCAA Championship and serving as an alternate captain in his senior season with the Eagles.
