As a member of the Oakland Raiders, Michael Bush got an entire season's worth of starts in replacement of the oft-injured Darren McFadden, starting 16 games between 2009-2011. Now as a member of the Bears, Bush will again be thrust into a starting role due to injury when he'll fill in for Matt Forte against the Rams.
Speaking to Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago, Bush spoke of how excited he is for the opportunity to further prove himself:
"I still think I need to prove to the coaches each week that I get a chance. The more I get to play, the more I get to show them, and the more (I hope) they'll trust in me, believe in me and give me more opportunities to more things. But for the most part, I know they've got my back, regardless."
Signed in free agency during the 2012 offseason on a four-year, $15 million deal, Bush has 23 career touchdowns and just under 3,000 yards rushing. He already earned two touchdowns as a member of the Bears, each against the Colts in Week 1.
Bush has accumulated 96 yards rushing on 26 carries in 2012.
