Brandon Hardin Injury: Bears Take Cautious Route With Safety

Chicago Bears rookie Brandon Hardin was carted off the field with a kneck injury Saturday against the Washington Redskins, but has reportedly said he feels well enough to play. Still, the Bears plan to take a cautious approach, with the safety, who is scheduled to have an MRI in two weeks.

A source cited by ESPNChicago.com there's no threat of paralysis and that Hardin will be able to play football again. Despite Hardin's optimism that he can play, the question for the Bears seems to be whether or not to even hold Hardin's roster spot, considering the team is working through injuries at the position. Safety Chris Conte suffered a shoulder injury against the Redskins.

It's likely the Bears will wait until results from the MRI are in before deciding whether or not to put Hardin on injured reserve.
