#Bears had reportedly been interested. RT@panthers: The#Panthers have terminated the contract of T Jeff Otah.
The Chicago Bears, who sport one of the more troubled offensive lines in the league (9.4 percent sack-rate in 2011, second-worst in the league), were believed to have interest in Otah, a former first-round draft pick. The Panthers tried to trade him to the New York Jets, but the trade fell through when Otah's injury struggles resulted in two failed physicals.
Otah, 26, has not played since Week 5 of the 2011 NFL season, and he missed the entirety of the 2010 NFL season with injuries.
