John "Moon" Mullin of CSN Chicago broke down the Chicago Bears defensive line in his first installment of the Bears offseason series. In it, he suggests the defensive unit -- which had the fifth-lowest sack rate in the NFL -- needs to improve in the 2012 NFL season. And head coach Lovie Smith agrees:
"Do we need to do a better job with [the defensive line]?" coach Lovie Smith said. "Yes. And I think those guys would say that. We’re saying that because we’re capable of doing more."
The Bears sacked the opposing quarterback only 5 out of 100 passing attempts. The Philadelphia Eagles led the league with an 8.8 percent sack rate.
