J.T. Thomas Arrest: Chicago Bears LB Likely To Have Drug Charges Dropped

The Chicago Bears got some good news on Friday afternoon. According to the Chicago Tribune, LB J.T. Thomas will likely pay a $165.80 fine, serve eight hours of community service and eventually have his misdemeanor drug charges expunged.

Thomas, in his second year in the NFL after spending his entire first year on IR, was pulled over February 13 after driving the wrong way on a one-way street in Morgantown, West Virginia. The police then searched the vehicle and found a small amount of marijuana on the former Mountaineers linebacker.

According to Thomas, he hopes to move on from this encounter with the judicial system:

"You just come out, start all over again and just work your way through it,'' he said. "You have to deal with issues that come up. You just try to stay focused on your main goal, and that's being a positive teammate and contributing the best way I can.''

The NFL has not yet made an official ruling on the matter and could still potentially execute some form of suspension and/or fines on Thomas.
