Matt Forte Contract Dispute: Bears RB Expected To Miss Offseason Workouts

The Chicago Bears may be without RB Matt Forte for at least the first of their offseason workouts. According to Brad Biggs of The Chicago Tribune, the Bears' star running back has yet to sign the franchise player contract the team tendered in early March. Biggs shares that the contract impasse has had "no sign of progress," and the 4-year veteran would need a "breakthrough" in order to complete a long-term contract in time for the voluntary workouts.

Forte entered the NFL in 2008 as a second round draft pick. He has played 60 games in the NFL, rushing for 1014 yards for an average of 70.6 yards per game and a total of 29 rushing and receiving touchdowns.
