2012 NFL Draft Grades: Todd McShay Lauds Hardin, Jeffery Picks

Todd McShay of ESPN and Scout.com recently analyzed the impact players and intriguing picks for each of the 32 NFL teams, and named DB Brandon Hardin and WR Alshon Jeffery as the Chicago Bears draft picks that stick out to him the most. According to McShaw, Hardin has a chance to help control some of the NFC North's toughest pass-catchers:

Impact pick: DB Brandon Hardin (third) -- He missed the entire 2011 season with a broken shoulder, but Hardin's 2010 tape shows he can be a sub-package defender who can match up with bigger wideouts... [and since Chicago faces] Lions WR Calvin Johnson and Packers TE Jermichael Finley twice a year, it's not a bad idea to have a defensive back who can come over and fight for jump balls.

Meanwhile, the nearly 6'3" Jeffery intrigues McShay. Jeffery presents raw talent and size, but also potential weight problems, according to McShay:

Intriguing pick: WR Alshon Jeffery (second) -- Jeffery lacks suddenness and will never be a great route-runner, but if he can commit to staying in shape, his elite downfield ball skills and ability to make plays in the red zone will be tremendous assets.
