According to Shannon Ryan of the Chicago Tribune, three members of the Illinois Fighting Illini have signed as undrafted free agents -- or college free agents -- following the 2012 NFL Draft:

  • OG Jack Cornell -- Signing with the Baltimore Ravens, team captain Jack Cornell will look to translate his two years as a starter at Illinois into a roster spot with the Ravens.
  • RB Jason Ford -- Signing with the Houston Texans, Ford brings 1962 career rushing yards and 26 touchdowns to Houston. He average 4.5 yards per carry in his career with the Illini, but only 3.9 yards per carry in his senior season.
  • K Derek Dimke -- Signing with the Detroit Lions, Dimke will likely compete against the incumbent K Jason Hanson. Dimke landed 39 of 46 field goal attempts with the Illini for a 84.8% field goal percentage.
