Chicago Bears Draft 2012: Phil Emery Discusses Brandon Hardin

The Chicago Bears took a bit of a risk in the third round when they selected Brandon Hardin, a safety from Oregon State. While Hardin was productive during his career for the Beavers, he did miss all of the last season with a broken shoulder.

While there are some injury concerns, Hardin has excellent size for the safety position. Along with his ability to play defensive back, Hardin should also be able to contribute on Special Teams. In his final healthy season at Oregon St., Hardin recorded 63 tackles and showed the rare combination of athleticism and size that made him a fit for what the Bears are looking to do on defense.
