NFL Draft 2012: Chicago Bears Select Oregon Beavers Safety Brandon Hardin In The 3rd Round

With the 79th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Oregon Beavers safety Brandon Hardin. He is the seventh rated player at his position in the draft.

Hardin is a big fast safety at 6’2" with an arm length of 31 ¾ and hands that are bigger than average. He was not invited to the Combine but participated instead at the Workout Warrior Pro Day where he ran a 4.46 40-time. He also ran an impressive shuttle and 3-cone time.

Hardin missed the entire 2011 season with a broken shoulder blade. He also was injured in 2008 with a fractured left hand and wrist.
