2012 NFL Mock Draft: Could Michael Floyd Still Jump Justin Blackmon?

Stay connected for news and updates

After impressive showings at the 2012 NFL Combine and Notre Dame's Pro Day, there was talk that Michael Floyd could jump consensus No. 1 wide receiver Justin Blackmon, who is seen by some as overrated by draft watchers and prognosticators. That talk has seemed to slow down of late, but if Floyd did jump Blackmon in the 2012 NFL Draft, it would be surprising but not necessarily shocking. Crazier things certainly have happened.

That scenario is played out in SB Nation's most recent 2012 mock draft, with the Miami Dolphins tabbing Floyd as their wide receiver of the future after presumably whiffing on Ryan Tannehill. Here's SB Nation's Ryan Van Bibber on the projection:

8. Miami Dolphins, Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame

Brandon Marshall is gone. Miami needs a No. 1 receiver to replace him, and they'll pick Floyd over Blackmon with both on the board.
