Matt Forte Contract Dispute: Bears RB Will Be A No-Show At Voluntary Workouts On Monday, According To Report

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte is not expected to show up for the team's voluntary workouts on Monday. The Bears placed the franchise tag on Forte earlier in the offseason, and the two sides have not been able to work out the long-term deal that Forte desires.

Forte has refused to sign his franchise tender, according to Schefter; while the franchise tag means Forte would make over $7.7 million in 2012, it's just a one-year agreement.

Forte ran for 997 yards and three scores in 12 games during the 2012 season. He has 4,233 rushing yards in four seasons with Chicago.
