According to The Chicago Tribune, head coach Lovie Smith of the Chicago Bears met with draft prospect WR Stephen Hill on Tuesday, taking the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets standout to lunch.
Smith likes to meet with the various potential top draft picks, Brad Biggs reports, and after watching the 6'4" receiver's pro day in Atlanta, Smith did just that. The Chicago Bears are widely expected to target a wide receiver in the upcoming draft, among other positions, partly because the team had the 7th least passing yards (3011 YDS) and 8th least passing touchdowns (18) in the 2011 NFL season.
Meanwhile, the tall and quick Hill accrued 820 receiving yards in 2011 -- enough to lead the Bears receivers despite playing only a 13-game season -- and a 29.3 yards per catch average, leading both the ACC and the NCAA.
