2012 NFL Free Agency: Bears To Host Ex-Vikings Guard Anthony Herrera

With the wide receiver position addressed after the trade for Brandon Marshall, the Chicago Bears are turning their attention to their next biggest area of need: the offensive line. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bears will host ex-Minnesota Vikings guard Anthony Herrera in Chicago on Wednesday.

Herrera started 12 games for the Vikings last season, but was cut by Minnesota in order to save money under the salary cap. Herrera joined the Vikings in 2004 under Mike Tice, who is now the offensive coordinator in Chicago. Herrera is not considered an elite guard, and at 31 years of age and coming off of a torn ACL in 2010, he may be brought in more for depth than as a guaranteed starter.
