Wife Of Former Chicago Bears DT Tommie Harris Dies At Age 29

The NFL world received some terrible news on Monday. The wife of former Chicago Bears defensive lineman Tommie Harris died after suffering an apparent stroke or brain aneurysm over the weekend. Ashley Harris was rushed to the hospital in their Oklahama hometown, but after spending Sunday on life support, Ashley passed Monday morning.

Fellow Bears and former Bears passed on their condolences on Monday, with former S Chris Harris tweeting a farewell to Ashley Harris, later retweeted by Bears WR Earl Bennett. Ashley married Tommie Harris in January; she leaves behind Tommie and their two children.

Tommie Harris was originally drafted by the Chicago Bears with their first round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. He played seven seasons with the Bears until being released before the 2011 NFL Season, signing with the San Diego Chargers shortly thereafter.
