Bears vs. 49ers score update: Chicago down at halftime, 20-0

Things have not gotten any better for the Chicago Bears on Monday night, as a 10-0 first quarter deficit has been extended to 20-0 going into halftime against the San Francisco 49ers.

Chicago has been thoroughly dominated on both sides of the ball. The Bears managed just 35 yards of offense in the first half, including -1 yards passing. Their normally stout defense has been shredded for a whopping 249 yards.

Colin Kaepernick and the Niners' offense made the score 17-0 early in the second quarter after an eight-play, 96-yard drive. Kendall Hunter's 14-yard run capped off the drive, which took just four minutes off the clock.

Following an interception of Jason Campbell, San Francisco moved 25 yards to get deep into Chicago territory. The Bears' defense finally made a play, sacking Kaepernick on third down to force a field goal. David Akers connected on a 37-yard kick, his second field goal of the game.

Kaepernick has completed 12-of-15 passes for 184 yards and one touchdown. Vernon Davis leads San Francisco in receiving, notching five catches for 72 yards and a score. Frank Gore has 12 carries for 50 yards.

Campbell is 4-of-8 passing for 21 yards and has been sacked three times by Aldon Smith. Matt Forte has 11 carries for 35 yards.
