The Chicago Bears lost their first game since Week 2 on Sunday night, and they lost quarterback Jay Cutler to a concussion. What the Bears did not lose was their playoff position; at 7-2, Chicago remains in position to earn a first round bye and a guaranteed home playoff game.
Other NFC contenders struggling in their Week 10 games helped the Bears hold onto their spot in the playoff race. The Giants fell to 6-4 with a 31-13 loss to Cincinnati; the 49ers went to 6-2-1 after tying the Rams 24-24; and the Falcons lost their first game of the season in New Orleans, keeping Chicago within a game of the top seed.
Chicago travels to San Francisco to play the 49ers next Monday night. The Bears then host the 6-4 Vikings and Seahawks in consecutive weeks before visiting Minnesota, then hosting the Packers in Week 15. Green Bay is the only NFC team to beat Chicago so far in the 2012 season.
