Bears WR Johnny Knox still recovering from last season's spine injury

Bradley Leeb-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Chicago Bears wide receiver Johnny Knox is slowly improving as he attempts to recover from last season's spine injury.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Johnny Knox is still working hard to recover from a devastating spine injury that he suffered last Dec. 18 against the Seattle Seahawks. Knox told ESPN Chicago's Jeff Dickerson that he's improving, but also acknowledged later that there's still ways to go in the recovery process:

"I'm better than the last time we talked," Knox said. "Still working on some things and trying to improve on some things and I'm headed in the right direction. I added a little more here and there, not too much different. I'm out there running, moving a little bit better, but not too much different from the last time we talked."

Knox is currently on the physically unable to perform list, and he's not sure whether the Bears plan to activate him before the end of the regular season. He's eligible to come off the PUP list after the team's bye week in Week 6, but considering the fact that he still is not running full speed yet, it will be a long while before the speedy wide receiver will see game action again.
