The Chicago Bears conducted another interview for the team's vacant general manager position, this time with Phil Emery, who is Kansas City's college scouting director.
According to Sean Jensen of the Sun-Times, the Bears are satisfied with the five candidates with whom they have talked and will pick the next GM from that pool. Jensen also has heard from league sources that Emery is the favorite:
So Jason Licht of the, Jimmy Raye of the San Diego , Marc Ross of the , Tim Ruskell of the Bears or Phil Emery of the will replace Jerry Angelo as Bears' general manager.
If the hunches of two league sources is correct, Emery is the leader in the club house.
Working in Emery's favor, perhaps, is his familiarity with the Bears; Emery was a scout for Chicago from 1998 to 2004.
