Former Bears RB Rashaan Salaam Auctioning Off Heisman Ring

Not a whole ton to see here, but it basically breaks down like this: Heisman winners get not just a statue, but a bronze ring as well. Rashaan Salaam has decided to sell his.

Suspected reasons? After the jump.

According to Yahoo!. via The Denver Post:

....Salaam has been marketing mixed martial arts around the world and his business has taken a hit.

"I know he's been through some tough times with his business because of the economy," Colorado spokesman David Plati told the paper Tuesday at the Pac-12 Conference football preview in Los Angeles. "But it's not like he's in dire straits."

Never easy to hear about a person facing tough times, even if the below image is one of the suggested searches for him on Google.

If the reports are true, all the best to Rashaan in the future. If not? What's the deal, dude?
