With the Chicago Bears' shot at the playoffs dead and buried after the team's 35-21 to the Green Bay Packers, the team confirmed what most considered all but inevitable: Jay Cutler and Matt Forte will not suit up for Chicago again in 2011.
Obviously, there's little point in Chicago risking the long term health of either Cutler or Forte in the team's final game of 2011 vs. the Minnesota Vikings. For Forte, the question remains whether or not he will suit up for the Bears ever again in his career, though conventional wisdom holds that Chicago will likely use the franchise tag on their star running back.
For the team, the placement of Cutler and Forte on IR all but closes the book on a promising season wrecked by devastating injuries.
