Bears Coach Lovie Smith Noncommittal On Week 16 Starter

With the Chicago Bears' playoff hopes all but six feet deep, a change at quarterback would be little more than a cosmetic change to a season that is quickly becoming something close to a nightmare. But with that said, Bears head coach Lovie Smith would not commit to naming Caleb Hanie the starter for the Bears' Week 16 game vs. the Green Bay Packers.

Hanie has started four game in Jay Cutler's absence, and after a promising debut against the Oakland Raiders, his performance has been subpar. He's thrown three touchdowns to nine interceptions, and has completed exactly 50% of his passes. He's also twice put up a QB rating under 35.

If Smith opts to make a change, he may go with recent free agent signing Josh McCown, who hasn't started an NFL game since 2007, or he may choose rookie Nathan Enderle, a 2011 fifth round pick out of Idaho.
