Lovie Smith On Lack Of Respect: 'Chicago Bears Should Not Be Eight Point Underdogs'

Stay connected for news and updates

On the heels of an impressive 30-24 Chicago Bears victory over the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday Night Football, Bears head coach Lovie Smith had some choice words for doubters of his team. In the postgame press conference, Smith gave some insight into just how he feels about the lack of respect his team has received on the national level:

"We're a good football team, just not getting a lot of respect. When you go on a road...the Chicago Bears should not be eight point underdogs when we come and play a team, and the guys took notice of that."

With the Bears now sporting a 5-3 record and holding playoff tiebreakers over other wildcard hopefuls like the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Philadelphia Eagles, maybe that national respect will come soon.
