Forte, Bears Get Off To Quick Start

Stay connected for news and updates

Layoff? What Layoff?. The Bears looked like anything but a team that hasn’t played a game in 15 days. Chicago got the ball first and marched right down the field thanks to some great running by who else. Matt Forte.

Forte ran the ball for 52 yards and the Bears used up almost six minutes off the clock ending with a touchdown pass from Jay Cutler to tight end Matt Spaeth from 5-yards out. Robbie Gould made the extra point to put the Bears up 7-0.

The Bears featured a nice mix on the drive with eight runs and four passes. The Eagles defense continued to show why they are ranked so low in defending the run as both Matt Forte and Marion Barber ran the ball at will.
