After an initial report by Fox Sports' Jay Glazer that Bears quarterback Jay Cutler suffered a thumb injury during Sunday's win over the San Diego Chargers, more details are beginning to emerge. A source told the Chicago Tribune's Vaughn McClure that the team is preparing to "move forward without Cutler 'for a while.'"
And now there is this report from the Sun-Times' Sean Jensen, which corroborates what McClure reported:
Bears QB Jay Cutler did break thumb in his throwing hand. And while there will be more tests, there is a fear that it could end his season
It's a huge blow for a team that has been playing very good football over the last month.
