BMW Championship Leaderboard: Scott Piercy Is An Early Mover With Leaders Yet To Tee Off

With still more than half the field at the BMW Championship yet to begin their final rounds Sunday, early birdies have moved Scott Piercy and John Sended up the leaderboard.

Piercy began the day at 1-under, 15 shots off the lead, but started off right with a birdie on No. 1. He followed up with another birdie on No. 2 and pars on Nos. 3, 4 and 5. Another birdie at No. 6 has him presently sitting as Sunday's low scorer with a 3-under. He is 4-under for the tournament.

2012 BMW Championship: Rory McIlroy Among 4 Atop Leaderboard At 8-Under

On a day when a number of players opened their weeks with low scores, it was none other than Rory McIlory who headlined a group of four men that put forth opening rounds of 64 on Thursday at the 2012 BMW Championship.

McIlroy is tied with Webb Simpson, Bo Van Pelt and Graham DeLaet for the 18-hole lead at 8-under, while Tiger Woods and Vijay Sing lurk just one stroke off the pace after firing 7-under rounds of 65 to open the tournament.
