White Sox Vs. Twins Final Score: Chicago Wins 4-2

The Chicago White Sox defeated the Minnesota Twins 4-2 Monday, taking the first game of their three-game series.

Hector Santiago (3-1 3.71 ERA) picked up the win for the White Sox after allowing one run over five innings. Santiago stuck out six batters while allowing just three hits. Addison Reed pitched a scoreless ninth inning to record his 25th save of the season.

Gordon Beckham was the offensive star for the White Sox, driving in three of their four runs. Beckham got the scoring started early with a two-run home run in the second inning. After Minnesota cut the Chicago lead to 3-2 in the top of the eighth inning, Beckham drove in an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth.

Samuel Deduno (5-3, 3.66 ERA) allowed just two runs over six innings but still took the loss for the Twins. The series will continue Tuesday with first pitch scheduled for 8:10 ET.
