FedEx Cup Standings 2012: Brandt Snedeker Pockets $10 Million With Win

Nashville native Brandt Snedeker is certainly less well-known than Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson --three of the four golfers who were ahead of him in the FedEx Cup standings heading into this past weekend's Tour Championship. But Snedeker became a household name on Sunday when he won the Tour Championship by three shots, in the process winning the 2012 FedEx Cup and $10 million first-place prize.

Snedeker was brilliant over the weekend, shooting a six-under 64 on Saturday and a two-under 68 on Sunday. He ended up winning the Tour Championship by three shots over Justin Rose. His lead was so large going into the 18th hole that it didn't matter that he yanked his final tee shot into the grandstands. Snedeker was one of only a handful of players to shoot under par on Sunday, and Woods, McIlroy and Mickelson were not among them.

Chicago-area golfers Luke Donald and Steve Stricker never really contended for the FedEx lead. Donald jumped to ninth place in the standings after a solid showing at the Tour Championship, while Stricker dropped seven places to No. 20 in the standings.
