Chicago Bears Make Minor Roster Moves After Week 1

Coming off a solid 41-21 victory over the Colts in Week 1, the Chicago Bears have made a series of minor roster moves, as Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago reports. None of the moves should have a major impact in Week 2, particularly considering many of the moves only concern the practice squad at this point.

On Monday, the team released punter Ryan Quigley, signed offensive tackle Jonathan Scott, released offensive tackle Cory Brandon from the practice squad and signed tight end Dedrick Epps to the practice squad. The team also reinstated defensive tackle Nate Collins from the reserve list after he missed Week 1.

The Bears had kept Quigley as insurance in case regular punter Adam Podlesh was limited by a nagging hip flexor injury, but Podlesh was able to play without hindrance against the Colts. It's quite rare for a team to carry more than one punter on its 53-man roster.
