The Chicago Cubs open their four-game series against the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday night at Wrigley Field.
The Chicago Cubs have finally returned home after another disastrous road trip -- this time they dropped all six games on a quick west coast tour -- and they will be looking to build something positive at home against the Cincinnati Reds. In the opening game of the four-game set against Cincinnati, the Cubs turn to struggling pitcher Chris Volstad (0-8, 7.22 ERA), while the Reds counter with Mike Leake (4-7, 4.51 ERA).
Thursday's game marks the first of eight meetings between the Cubs and the Reds over the next 11 days, so these teams will be getting very familiar with each other in August.
