The Bears and Broncos meet Thursday night at Soldier Field in the preseason opener.
Football is back. The Chicago Bears will take on the Denver Broncos in the preseason opener on Thursday night at Soldier Field. Though the it doesn't count in the standings, plenty of intrigue will surround the game with notable offseason acquisitions for each team making their debut.
The Denver Broncos signed Peyton Manning in NFL in free agency after the future Hall of Fame quarterback sat out of all the 2011 season for the Indianapolis Colts with a neck injury. Manning is reportedly going to take 10-12 for the Broncos. The Bears will be debuting Brandon Marshall, the wide receiver who has all of Chicago dreaming of a Super Bowl run.
In Chicago, first round draft pick Shea McClellin will be under the microscope. The defense end struggled early in training camp, according to reports, but seems to be coming around lately.
