2012 London Olympics: U.S. Women Crush Canada, 91-48

The Team USA women's team won their 39th consecutive game in Olympic competition as they cruised past Canada on Monday in their final game of the qualifying round by a final score of 91-48.

From the outset, the United States women suffocated their Canadian counterparts on defense as they outscored them 19-8 in the first quarter. Canada didn't score 20 points in any quarter during the game.

Chicago Sky representative Sylvia Fowles scored 12 points and grabbed four rebounds while teammate Swin Cash struggled offensively as she scored just three points but did grab three rebounds and had two assists and one steal.

Naperville native Candace Parker scored 12 points grabbed seven rebounds and registered three assists in the game.

The United States advance to the gold medal round and will face the winner of the Monday morning matchup between Australia and China.
