Safeties Brandon Hardin and Chris Conte both left Saturday's preseason game against the Washington Redskins. Urlacher remains out.

Safety Brandon Hardin was carted off the field after suffering a neck injury in the third quarter of Saturday's preseason game against the Washington Redskins. Hardin, the 2012 third round draft pick of the Chicago Bears, had his head immobilized as he left the field, however, he did have mobility in his arms and legs and gave the customary "thumbs up" to the concerned fans. After the game, he took to Twitter to reassure the Chicago faithful that he was okay.

Hardin is just the latest safety injury in Chicago, as safety Chris Conte also left Saturday's game with a shoulder injury. According to Michael C. Wright of ESPN Chicago, head coach Lovie Smith was positive following Conte's injury, saying, "I do not know the extent of the injury. I don't think it is too bad."

Brian Urlacher is still out while he recovers from offseason knee surgery. The team maintains that he will be ready for the season opener against the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 9.
