White Sox Vs. Blue Jays Final Score: Jose Quintana Leads Chicago To Victory

The Chicago White Sox are used to winning games with their bats, but on Friday night it was pitching and a heap of singles that powered them to a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. Of Chicago's seven hits on Tuesday night, none went for extra bases, but those singles were timely.

In the top of the fifth, A.J. Pierzynski led off the inning with a single. He was moved over to second by a Dayan Viciedo single, then scored on an Alejandro De Aza single. Viciedo then came home on a Dewayne Wise single, with De Aza plating the third run when Blue Jays starter Henderson Alvarez mishandled a ball.

Those three runs were enough for White Sox starter Jose Quintana and Chicago's bullpen. Quintana threw 6.2 innings, giving up eight hits and two earned runs while striking out four. White Sox relievers Brett Myers, Matt Thornton and Addison Reed cleaned things up from there, with Reed earning his 21st save of the season.

The teams will be back on the field on Wednesday night at 6:07 p.m. CT.
