Derrick Rose is one of the most reclusive major athletes in America, and before Sunday was one of the lone worldwide superstars to not be on Twitter. But that has changed: say hello to @drose. Yes, Rose unceremoniously popped up on Twitter on Sunday morning to wish Team USA's men's basketball team good luck in Sunday's gold medal game.
He sent out his second tweet a few hours later after the Americans had clinched their second straight gold.
Congrats
— Derrick Rose (@drose) August 12, 2012@usabasketball for getting the gold! s/o to@russwest44@kingjames@kevinlove@kdtrey5@cp3 and everyone on#teamusa#olympics
Rose, if not for his ill-timed ACL injury, would have of course been a part of that gold medal winning team. But instead he presumably spent Sunday like the rest of us, watching the game from his couch and tweeting. Well, sort of like the rest of us— no one else lives in the penthouse of the Trump Tower in Chicago.
