The Chicago White Sox open a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics on Friday night at U.S. Cellular Field, and despite some recent worries the Sox have still been solid over the last few weeks. They have won 10 of their last 15 games overall, so Chicago will try to keep some of that momentum when they take on the Athletics. In the series opener on Friday Gavin Floyd (8-9, 4.43 ERA) takes the mound for the Sox while ex-Sox pitcher Brandon McCarthy (6-3, 2.54 ERA) gets the start for Oakland.
