Reds Vs. Cubs Preview: Chicago Tries To Start A Winning Streak On Friday

Stay connected for news and updates

The Chicago Cubs snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 5-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday night, and now they get to try and build something positive for the first time during the month of August on Friday afternoon. Cincinnati will send Homer Bailey (9-7, 3.98 ERA) to the mound, while the Cubs will counter with Justin Germano (1-1, 3.38 ERA).

The Reds are still a hot team -- they've won 22 of their last 26 games and sit 20 games over .500 -- so every next game is part of the ongoing uphill battle for the Cubs as the disappointing 2012 season continues.

Game date/time: Friday, August 10, 1:20 p.m. CT

Location: Wrigley Field, Chicago, Illinois

TV: WGN
