Notre Dame Football Recruiting: LB Alex Anzalone Commits To The Irish

Linebacker Alex Anzalone committed to Notre Dame on Sunday:

Anzalone, a top 50 linebacker once committed to Ohio State, announced a new oral commitment on Sunday to play for the Irish starting in 2013 -- while also revealing his intent to enroll early in January for a head start in competing to replace Manti Te'o in the middle.

Anzalone is rated a four-star prospect by Rivals and is ranked 49th overall in the class of 2013. Anzalone, who was at one time committed to Ohio State, had offers from Florida, Alabama, Penn State, Michigan and Oklahoma, among many others.
