British Open Odds 2012: Luke Donald Tabbed Behind Tiger Woods As Most Likely Winner

Englishman Luke Donald has had a rough time in 2012 with golf's major championships. He finished tied for 32nd at this year's Masters and missed the cut at this year's U.S. Open, but oddsmakers still like his chances of capturing the 2012 British Open. Bovada currently has Donald at 14/1 odds to win the Claret Jug, which is tied for second with Lee Westwood and behind only Tiger Woods, who gives bettors 8/1 odds.

Steve Stricker, on the other hand, is fresh off a top-15 finish in the U.S. Open. Bovada taps him at 66/1 odds, not a exactly a longshot, but certainly not a favorite either. It is at least better than defending British Open champion Darren Clarke, who is only being given 125/1 odds to repeat as winner.

Here are the top 10 most likely winners per Bovada:

  • Tiger Woods, 8/1
  • Luke Donald, 14/1
  • Lee Westwood, 14/1
  • Rory McIlroy, 16/1
  • Padraig Harrington, 18/1
  • Francesco Molinari, 30/1
  • Graeme McDowell, 30/1
  • Justin Rose, 30/1
  • Martin Kaymer, 33/1
  • Phil Mickelson, 33/1
