The first round of the 2012 French Open continued on Monday with a couple of big names -- Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic -- hitting the court for the first time. Federer cruised in straight sets over Tobias Kamke, 6-2, 7-5, 6-3; Djokovic also advanced with little trouble, beating Potito Starace 7-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Donald Young, who is from the Chicago area, is set to play his first round match against Grigor Dimitrov on Tuesday. Rafael Nadal also plays on Tuesday.
In the women's draw, the seeded players didn't run into too many problems on Monday. Sofia Arvidsson's defeat of No. 17 Roberta Vinci was the biggest upset of the day.
