Preakness 2012 Results: I'll Have Another Keeps Triple Crown Dream Alive

Horse Racing will have quite the storyline heading into the Belmont Stakes, as I'll Have Another will have a chance to win the Triple Crown following a thrilling sprint down the stretch to win the 2012 Preakness. Just as he did in the 2012 Kentucky Derby, I'll Have Another passed Bodemeister with less than 100 yards remaining to pull of the spectacular win.Creative Cause finished behind Bodemeister for third place.

I'll Have Another becomes the first horse since Big Brown in 2008 to enter the Belmont Stakes with the opportunity to win the Triple Crown. However, it will not be easy to make history, as no horse since Affirmed in 1978 has won the Triple Crown. Since Affirmed won the Triple Crown, 11 other horses have entered the Belmont Stakes with the opportunity to make racing history.

Preakness Stakes Post Time 2012: I'll Have Another Goes For Second Leg Of Triple Crown

As I'll Have Another comes off an unlikely victory in the Kentucky Derby, the spotlight will be shining brightly on the horse at today's Preakness Stakes. The post time for race is 5:18 p.m.

Despite winning the first leg of the Triple Crown, I'll Have Another isn't the favorite as the morning lines come out for the second leg. That honor belongs to Bob Baffert's Bodemeister, who enters the race with 8-5 odds. I'll Have Another has the second best odds at 5-2.

The 11-horse race boasts a considerably smaller field than the Kentucky Derby. I'll Have Another will race out of Gate No. 9, while Bodemeister will fire out of Gate No. 7.

Post time: Saturday, May 19, 5:18 p.m. CT

Location: Pimlico Race Course, Baltimore, Md.
