The Players Championship 2012 Leaderboard Update: Matt Kuchar Earns Win

With numerous golfers entering Sunday with the belief they could potentially win the 2012 Players Championship, Matt Kuchar decided not to give them a chance. Kuchar, who entered the final round one stroke behind Kevin Na, shot -2 during the final round to finish the tournament at -13 and win his first Players Championship.

Na, who entered the final day with a one stroke lead, struggled throughout the day and shot a +4 to finish in a tie for 7th. Four golfers finished two strokes behind Kuchar, including Rickie Fowler and Martin Laird. Laird was impressive on the final day, shooting -5 and making a strong push up the leaderboard.

Northwestern alum Luke Donald also was impressive on Sunday, shooting -6 to finish the tournament at -9. Donald finished alone in sixth place after entering the day tied for 27th.

The Players Championship 2012 Leaderboard: Luke Donald Sitting At -3 Through 8 Holes

The final round of the 2012 Players Championship is underway, and with the leaders yet to tee off, some other golfers are trying to work their way into contention. At even par for the day and three-under overall, Northwestern alum Luke Donald hasn't been able to make a move, and time is running out.

Tournament leader Kevin Na (-12) tees off at 1:45 p.m. CT along with Matt Kuchar (-11).

Phil Mickelson is already on the course and sits at -5 through three holes, -1 on the day. Tiger Woods is +2 overall and really struggling on Sunday.

Bob Estes is in the clubhouse with the low round of the day, a 65 that vaulted him from 59th all the way up into a tie for 10th.

2012 Players Championship Scores: Luke Donald Sits Nine Strokes Off The Lead

Following the third round of the 2012 Players Championship, which saw some impressive scores posted, Luke Donald sits nine strokes off the lead at -3. Donald failed to take advantage of very good golfing conditions, shooting even par for the third round.

The story of the day was the play of Rickie Fowler, who shot the low score of the day at -6. Fowler started the day in 12th place, but with his impressive round, moved into third place and trails the leader by just two strokes. The leader heading into the final round is Kevin Na, who shook off some shaky moments towards the end of his round to shoot a -4 and head into the final round at -12.

Matt Kuchar sits just one stroke behind Na after shooting -3. Ben Curtis and Zach Johnson round out the top five, with both golfers sitting at -7 heading into Sunday.

Players Championship 2012 Leaderboard Update: Low Scores The Story Of The Afternoon

With the golfers at the top of the leaderboard getting ready to tee off this afternoon, there has been some movement from the guys who are already on the course. The big story has been the play of Rickie Fowler, who started the day tied for 12th, but has shot -3 through the first seven holes to move into a tie for 5th with Charlie Wi, Martin Laird, Jonathan Byrd, Adam Scott and Brian Davis.

After shooting even par through the first two days, Sergio Garcia shot -4 to move into a tie for 16th. Jhonattan Vegas has moved up the leaderboard in a similar fashion to Fowler, as he has shot -3 through eight holes to move into a tie for 12th with Kevin Streelman, Ben Curtis and Kevin Stadler.

Zach Johnson, Kevin Na and Matt Kuchar all sit at -8 as they prepare to tee off today. Harris English is just one stroke behind the lead.

Players Championship 2012: Tee Times, Pairings, TV Schedule For Saturday

The 2012 Players Championship TPC Sawgrass in Florida has shifted into the third round, which means players have made new pairs and everyone is trying to make it into the final round on Sunday for a shot at some of the $9.5 million tournament purse. Most of the leaders have mid-afternoon tee-times -- including Matt Kuchar / Harris English, and Zach Johnson / Kevin Na -- while Luke Donald and Lee Westwood form another high-powered group to watch on Saturday.

TV coverage can be seen on the Golf Channel starting at 11 a.m. CT, and continues on NBC at 1 p.m. Here is a list of the tee times and pairings for round three of the Players Championship (all times ET):

2012 Players Championship Scores: Luke Donald Tied For 17th Through 2 Rounds

With the first two rounds of the 2012 Players Championship at Sawgrass in the books, Northwestern alum Luke Donald is three under par, tied for 17th place and safely through to the weekend. The cut line ended up at even par.

After sitting at even par through the first nine holes on Friday, Donald finished his day strong with a birdie on 11 and eagle on 16. He is five strokes behind the leaders.
