2012 Masters: Peter Hanson Holds Slight Lead After Shooting 65

Stay connected for news and updates

Thanks to a trio of impressive performances, the 2012 Masters looks set for an exciting final round on Sunday. Peter Hanson holds a one-stroke lead after shooting a 65 and is at -9 after three rounds. However, Phil Mickelson generated some substantial momentum, as he shot a -6 on the back nine and trails Hanson by just one stroke. Louis Oosthuizen is just two strokes off the lead, while five other golfers are within five strokes entering the final day.

While the playing conditions allowed for some impressive scores, the two Chicago natives in the tournament were unable to take advantage. Steve Stricker remains at +4 and is tied for 41st after shooting even par on the day. Luke Donald really struggled throughout his round, shooting +3 and dropping into a tie for 52nd with four other guys.
