The Chicago Bears do not control their own destiny but can greatly improve their playoff chances with a win against the Detroit Lions in Week 17.
The Chicago Bears came through with a much needed win on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. However, the Minnesota Vikings won in Week 16 as well. The playoff scenarios entering Week 17 are now very clear with every scenario requiring the Bears to beat the Lions in Week 17.
If the Bears win against the Detroit Lions in Week 17 AND the Minnesota Vikings lose to the Green Bay Packers, the Bears clinch the 6th playoff spot.
If the Bears win against the Detroit Lions in Week 17 AND the Seattle Seahawks lose in Week 16 to the San Francisco 49ers AND the Seahawks lose in Week 17 to the St. Louis Rams AND the Minnesota Vikings win against the Green Bay Packers, the Bears clinch the 6th playoff spot.
If the Bears win against the Detroit Lions in Week 17 AND the Seattle Seahawks lose in Week 16 to the San Francisco 49ers AND the Seahawks lose in Week 17 to the St. Louis Rams AND the Minnesota Vikings lose to the Green Bay Packers, the Bears clinch the 5th playoff spot.
