Four-star linebacker recruit Alex Anzalone will stay with the Fighting Irish after re-considering his commitment to Notre Dame.
Four star linebacker recruit Alex Anzalone reaffirmed his commitment to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish after a visit to campus over the weekend. Anzalone made his announcement via his Twitter account:
With that, I want to reaffirm my commitment to Notre Dame and shut down my recruitment completely with all other schools. God bless!

Anzalone announced that he had committed to Notre Dame in July, but the Fighting Irish were not the first school the linebacker had committed to. He originally commited to the play for the Ohio State Buckeyes, but de-committed fairly quickly.
Besides Notre Dame, Anzalone was also considering the Florida Gators. Anzalone's father attended Florida, so there was a strong connection between the linebacker and the school.
Anzalone had made a trip to Florida earlier this season while canceling a trip to Notre Dame, fueling the rumors that the linebacker planned on changing his commitment. Anzalone traveled to campus Sunday and re-committed after meeting with coaches.
