Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has a concussion and will not return to Sunday night's game against the Houston Texans. Veteran backup Jason Campbell replaced Cutler when the team returned to the field after halftime.

Cutler took a nasty hit from Texans linebacker Tim Dobbins on a third-down play in the second quarter of the game. Dobbins received an unnecessary roughness penalty on the play, but an offsetting foul by Cutler gave the Bears a second chance. Cutler carried the ball himself on the next play, diving head first for a new set of downs before throwing his second interception of the game.

The Bears starting quarterback has yet to miss a full game this season, though Jason Campbell has taken a few snaps in his place in the weeks prior to this one. This is the second time in his career that Cutler has suffered a concussion.

Cutler leaves the game 7-for-14 with 40 yards. he ran the ball three times for 37 yards.
