Northwestern vs. Nebraska score: Venric Mark gets free, gives Wildcats 21-16 lead after third quarter

Venric Mark's 80-yard touchdown run gives Northwestern a 21-16 lead.

The Northwestern Wildcats and Nebraska Cornhuskers traded touchdowns in the third quarter of Saturday's game and Northwestern leads 21-16 entering the fourth.

After being held to just 21 yards in the first half, Northwestern's star running back Venric Mark broke free on an 80-yard touchdown run to give the Wildcats a 21-10 lead with 12:50 left in the quarter. Mark now has 115 yards on 15 carries.

With 1:56 left in the quarter, Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez scored on a 3-yard touchdown run. Martinez is 16-for-24 for 203 yards and a touchdown. He also has 59 rushing yards.

Northwestern quarterback Trevor Siemian threw two touchdown passes in the first half. He is 10-for-25 for 69 yards for the game. Tony Jones has three catches for 37 yards and a touchdown.

Ameer Abdullah has 16 carries for 93 yards for Nebraska.
